Soundtrack Festival 2008; Abraham's Point

Mackenzie Crook plays a young man with a stupid name, Comet Snape, an antique dealer who is constantly haunted by his past, as he drives back to West Wales. On the way home, he faces deception, theft, and his past.

Snape nicks a grandfather clock and sets off to bring it back to his dying father.

Abraham's Point has some great shots, showcasing some gorgeous landscapes.

Mackenzie goes phone it in a little, but he holds it all together with his watchabilty.

I found the plot had some lame moments, and it was a tad too long, but a decent film nonetheless.

I saw this film and found the very moving ending worth the wait, the music is very emotive and raised the hairs on my neck in parts; all in all a very lovely film which speaks to the soul! I have not been able to find any news of a release date though and have looked at the website at:
www.abrahamspoint.com
but I did manage to find that the music is available on:
http://www.johnhardymusic.net/shop/
PLEASE.. if anyone has any news of when this will be in the cinema post it somewhere!!!!

I found it a bit long...

Soon as I know anything, we'll post it up !

Thanks for that, will keep viewing your blog to see if you've heard anything first incase I don't find it anywhere else on the web!

I take your point; but I found it a rather beautiful film which was so much better than the myriads of 'slasher' movies that are about.Mackenzie Crook & Joseph Millson were superb together! We should champion films with a story so that more are made!!

Cheers Anon, keep looking !

You're right, it's a lot better than 75% of the stuff churned out at the moment.

More should be made ...

How soon. Do you know something we don't

Little bits and pieces are trickling in, but I'm not sure if those bits and pieces are true.
Give us a week.

perhaps channer 4 or s4c will buy it. would be good for these unknown previous student actors to be seen, not easy for any of them to make their way in this career

Channel 4/S4C sounds like a good shout. Heard a few rumours that the film's hitting the festival circuit all this year, with a small release in Oct-Nov time....
It just a rumour mind ...
Who are you Anon ?

a dedicated film buff, who wishes to see british films get the funding that the hollywood blockbusters seem to obtain. its about time they took more notice of cinema goers and gave our young, more talented british actors the opportunity to be seen.
