I didn't want this movie. I didn't want to watch this movie. But it wasn't any sort of fanboy hatred seeing as I'm not a huge Green Lantern fan, and it also wasn't the low reception it got from everyone. To put it bluntly, to me, this is one of those films you see in the film section at the store, and you don't bother to check the back of it or even notice it. It's one of those movies that was just there and that I didn't need to see. That sounds outrageous, even to me, because this is a superhero film. It's a comic book film and I've seen everything. I saw Dolph Lundgren as The Punisher. I own the Schumacher Batman films. I thoroughly ENJOYED the 1990 Captain America film. This? Well...

DVD Review - Cannibal
We are introduced to Max (Gob) living in a wood cabin in the middle of a forest. We learn little of Max with the exception that he must be hiding something. A deduction to be made from long vacant looks into nothingness. Whilst out playing golf on his lonesome he comes across a young woman (Coppejeans) covered in blood and unconscious. He does what any normal person would do in this situation. Take her home, take care of her and fall for her.
10 Fictional Workplaces We Wish Were Real
Here's one…
Tina Fey is said to have modeled the show 30 Rock after her time as a writer and actress for Saturday Night Live, and we can only hope this is true. Working in any position in The Girlie Show offices at NBC would be a dream for most people. The writers goof off all day bouncing fart jokes off each other, the actors are complimented constantly and given time off work to fulfill important tasks like creating a porn video game, and even the NBC page is seen as an important part of the team. Making the environment even more attractive is how accessible a top executive at NBC is to his staff, giving life advice and playing poker with even the lowliest employees.
The rest are here.

10 Best Shows-Within-Shows In TV History
Here's one…
The Larry Sanders Show was a hit HBO series depicting the behind the scenes life of a late night talk show host. The fictional late night show was actually filmed in front of a live studio audience and featured celebrity guests that played themselves, such as Jon Stewart, Hugh Hefner, and Adam Sandler. Many big name stars made appearances on this show, including Rip Torn, Janeane Garofalo, and Bob Odenkirk. The show had a great run for more than six years on HBO and still sells very well in the DVD market.

8 Horror Movies That Inspired Real-Life Crimes
Here's one...
The famous ’80s horror film, Nightmare on Elm Street, was the inspiration for Daniel Gonzalez’s killing spree. In 2004, the paranoid schizophrenic went on a drug-fueled rampage and murdered four random people, including a doctor and his wife. Gonzalez armed himself with several knives and acted out a Freddy Krueger-like spree. Official reports claimed that Gonzalez did not receive proper treatment for his mental condition. He was given six life sentences for the four murders, as well as two attempted murders throughout England. In 2007, Gonzalez committed suicide in his cell. The rest are here.

YOUR GUIDE TO FALL TV 2011 (PART SIX)
MAN UP!
WATCH IT - Honestly when I first saw the trailer for this fatherly and geeky sitcom I wasn’t too inspired. I had my hopes, but I didn’t think it was going to be funny, not at least this funny! I honestly couldn’t believe how much I liked the characters and really found myself engrossed in their wacky adventures. The casting is extremely strong and the writing is quick witted and a lot of fun. Sometimes the jokes and punchlines are a little too predictable, but while this doesn’t take from the show it’s self, it could be dangerous territory for the show. I truly believe that the critics are wrong about this one. I think this could be a hit!

CRAWL: Exclusive Torey Byrne Interview!
CRAWL is a new horror coming soon, and we have the world's first ever interview with one of the stars, the gorgeous Torey Byrne!
Torey in action in CRAWL
So, tell me about CRAWL. What's it all about?
CRAWL is an original Indie Horror/Thriller written by the amazing, Oklahoma Ward. It's got this really cool underlying theme of claustrophobia, so I don't recommend seeing it if you're, to quote a character from the movie, "not good in tight spaces". The set was so incredibly unique; we actually built and filmed in this labyrinth of tunnels. The largest of them was six feet tall and the smallest was thirteen inches in diameter (and completely dirt). There are videos of the set (and all the tunnels) on our website: www.crawlmovie.com. I don't want to give too much away yet, as we are still in post and planning our next move, but in a way it's a cross between Ridley Scott's Alien and the Hitchcock movies, if that gives you an idea. Stand-by for an official synopsis though. That and special clips from the movie will be added to our website, along with character pictures and behind the scenes footage soon.

Lucidity: Director Interviews
I spoke to Brandon Taylor and Anthony DiMichele, the directors of Lucidity. I'm AW.
AW: So, tell me about Lucidity. What's it all about?
BT: A cinematic journey exploring the waking and sleeping lives of Ian, Lucidity focuses on the exceptional behavior of an individual under the most endearing circumstances. Ian, a man who cannot recall his past, is visited in dreams by Ava, a woman who claims to be a significant part of his forgotten life. As a film, Lucidity offers its own unique interpretation of two of existence's most elusive questions: why do we dream and what happens when we die?

Gerard Lough Interview Podcast
Gerard Lough is director of short movie The Boogeyman which is opening Waterford Film Festival this week. The movie is inspired by a Stephen King story. He explains how it all came about on this podcast from Beat 102-103.
20 Things - Straw Dogs
Rod Lurie’s remake of Sam Peckinpah’s Straw Dogs was always bound to cause a stir. Peckinpah is one of those directors whose work tends to inspire a certain brand of obsessive cult fandom, and Lurie knew from the beginning that, by daring to take on a film like Straw Dogs, he was painting a big red bull’s-eye on his back.

DVD Review - Atrocious
Dir: Fernando Barreda Luna
Scr: Fernando Barreda Luna
Starring: Cristian Valencia, Clara Moraleda, Chus Pereiro, Sergi Martin
2010, Spain, 70 mins
Over the past decade the "found-footage" sub-genre has become a staple of horror cinema. Sure it dates back many a year to films like Cannibal Holocaust but since The Blair Witch Project in '99 it has been used by both independents and big-shiny-studios as a cost effective way of spooking audiences. Sometimes the results have been special ([Rec], Paranormal Activity), sometimes they've been piss poor (Paranormal Activity, *slight retch* Diary of the Dead). Director Fernando Barreda Luna is the latest filmmaker to attempt to scare us with a budget of £18.50.

RIP: Remembering Jamie Lee Curtis, 1978-1999
RIP: Remembering Jamie Lee Curtis, 1978-1999
By Damien Sage
Halloween, which I sadly non-celebrated this year (seriously no horror movies, no dressing up, no nothing, save for pigging out on candy, but that’s an everyday thing really) reminded me of something I had forgotten about, something I once loved dearly and still cherish in my heart, but miss, almost like a lost son or daughter… It’s been gone for a long time now, it left a void in me, deep and expansive and I fear it will probably never be filled again. This great thing that was taken from me, leaving only fleeting past visions of awesome spectacle in its wake and more current, often disappointing and disheartening momentary glimpses… this tender, tremulous subject to which I refer is Jamie Lee Curtis.

9 Famous Movies That Almost Didn’t Make It
Here is one...
One infamous day at Pixar known as Black Friday could've been the end of the smash animated hit Toy Story. On Nov. 19, 1993, animators presented a short, rough cut to Disney higher-ups of what they hoped would be made into a successful feature-length movie. But the executives didn't like what they saw.
